Aviation wire rope is specially used in the operation and control system of large airliners and transporters. Aviation wire rope is mainly used to control the rudder, aileron, engine, landing gear, compass pin corrector, etc. Aviation wire rope has higher performance requirements than ordinary wire rope due to its special use environment, safe and reliable requirements and long-term use. For example, the tensile strength is required to be more than 1865mpa; the fatigue test is required to be carried out under different tension according to the structure and specifications. After fatigue test, the worn part shall have enough strength, that is, the breaking force (see wire rope inspection) shall not be less than 50% of the specified breaking force of this kind of wire rope. Aviation wire rope also requires high corrosion resistance. For example, 90% of the flight time of a jet plane flying at an altitude of 10000 meters is below - 50 ℃. When landing in the atmosphere, the temperature changes very fast, and dew often forms on the surface of the steel wire rope. In addition, when landing and braking, the engine back spray smoke flows through the aileron, auxiliary wing and vertical rudder, which has strong corrosion and pollution to the steel wire rope. The varieties of aviation wire rope include single strand wire rope, organic core wire rope and metal core wire rope. Typical structures are 1 × 7, 1 × 19, 6 × 7 + IWS, 6 × 19 + IWS, 6 × 7 + NF, 6 × 19 + NF, etc. The raw materials of aviation wire rope are galvanized steel wire and stainless steel wire of carbon structural steel. The coating of galvanized steel wire shall be uniform and continuous without crack and peeling. After passing the inspection, the raw materials shall be tightly and neatly wrapped on the I-shaped wheel in accordance with the process requirements, and then be put into the strander for stranding, and then the rope shall be closed on the strander. The lay direction (see wire rope lay method) is right cross lay except that single strand rope is left lay. The rope core is generally made of cotton yarn or hemp and soaked in neutral oil, or made of metal core. The lay distance of steel wire rope shall be 6-8 times of the rope diameter, and the lay distance of steel wire in strand and single strand shall not exceed 12 times of the strand diameter. The lay distance of rope strand and steel wire shall be uniform in its whole length. The diameter of the central wire of the strand shall be increased. In order to eliminate the twisting stress of the wire rope and further remove the hydrogen in the galvanized steel wire, the fatigue resistance and breaking force of the aviation wire rope should be improved.
